Metabolomics Program

The Metabolomics Program is particularly interested in the development of clinical and pharmaceutical applications of metabolomics. In this context, metabolomics is used to facilitate the identification of new pharmaceutical targets, the elucidation of the mechanism of action of drugs, the characterization of safety and efficacy profiles, as well as the discovery of biomarkers for early disease diagnosis, prognosis, patient stratification, and treatment response monitorization.

Over the last few years, the Program has been conducting metabolomics studies in different areas: hemato-oncology, solid tumors, reproductive medicine, etc. A lot of attention is also paid to the development of technological platforms for the evaluation of different biological matrices that can provide a tool for a better understanding of biological systems.
