Breaking the Culture of Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment is a persistent barrier to women’s advancement in public and private sectors, including academia. Today, rates of sexual harassment in companies, universities, and organizations remain high. In this talk, Dr. Cooper will provide an overview of the problem and discuss the incidence of sexual harassment in work environments, the various forms it can take, and the cultural conditions and norms that enable and support it. Dr. Cooper will then discuss how leaders can identify where this may be happening in their own organizations, and the strategies and steps for addressing it. In addition to discussing sexual harassment, Dr. Cooper will provide an overview of the research agenda at the VMware Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab at Stanford University.
