Abstract:
This talk will explore the gut microbiota as both a window and a lever for cardiovascular aging. First, it will showcase how specific gut microbial signatures and their metabolites serve as biomarkers, revealing cardiovascular disease risk in aging populations.
Next, it will delve into the gut microbiota as a modifiable driver of cardiovascular aging, highlighting causal microbial pathways and metabolites, and discussing strategies to therapeutically target them.
The session will close by addressing current challenges and exciting future prospects for translating microbiome discoveries into actionable cardiovascular medicine.
