Computer Cluster

The technological platform of the high-performance computing cluster of the CIPF provides researchers with the infrastructure and technical support necessary to perform computational analyses related to projects developed in the field of biomedicine.

Generally, these computational analyses involve the processing of large volumes of data. For this purpose, the platform has a processing and storage system with sufficient power and capacity to work with all types of biomedical data (omics, biomedical imaging, clinical…).

These services are offered both to the center’s own researchers and to researchers from other research institutions who request them.

Currently the computing cluster is composed of:

  • Number of nodes: 20
  • Number of CPU cores: 744
  • No. of GPU cards: 4
  • Total RAM: 9 TB
  • Compute capacity: 17.9 TFLOPS
  • Storage Capacity: 1 PB (raw)
  • Operating System: Linux
  • File system: Lustre
  • Job Queue Manager: SLURM
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) with access to a wide variety of bioinformatics software.
  • Disk storage of data related to computational work.
  • Technical assistance related to the installation of software in the cluster.
