The Cancer Program promotes and develops multidisciplinary and translational research in the field of cancer biology, focusing on the search for new therapeutic targets, innovative medicines and advanced therapies, and diagnostic, prognostic, and response-predictive biomarkers. The Cancer Program is aligned with the EU Cancer Mission to improve the understanding and successfully modulate tumor-stroma-immune interactions to enhance the prevention of recurrence/resistance mechanisms, care intervention, and regression in advanced tumors. We aim to improve disease-free survival rates in patients, overcome severe, life threatening side effects associated with cancer therapies, and identify minimally invasive diagnostic approaches/biomarkers
