Description

The Prince Felipe Research Center (CIPF) is currently recruiting an experienced veterinarian to develop and direct a new service Unit for Transgenic Animal Models. The CIPF, a modern institute in Valencia Spain, is expanding based on a five-year strategic plan aimed at positioning the center as an international leader in biomedical research. We are committed to improving human health through innovative research; we seek to discover and develop new treatments that can offer significant benefits for patients with unmet medical needs.

We are seeking a veterinarian with expertise in techniques for the rederivation of mouse lines and for the generation of genetically altered models. The CIPF Barrier Facility state-of-the-art and is designed to house only “clean” or SPF mice and thus, the coordinator will oversee the import and export of strains from our facility. CIPF researchers work on a wide range of disease topics including cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and rare diseases. Genetic alteration is a powerful tool to help scientists understand the molecular basis of disease and this new Transgenic Unit will play a key role in helping research teams implementation the latest technology to pre-clinical models. The mission of the new Unit is to provide efficient and economic access to transgenic models of disease and related technologies.
